રાતના અગિયાર વાગ્યા છે... ઊંઘ ના આવવાથી સેવંતીલાલ પથારીમાં આમથી તેમ પડખા ઘસી રહ્યા છે. આખરે કંટાળીને એ ઊભા થાય છે અને રસોડામાં પાણી પીવા જાય છે. આમ તો આ સમયે એમનું ઘર પોતપોતાના રૂમમાં જાગતું જ હોય પણ હવે દસ દિવસ એ સુમસાન જ રહેશે, આજથી નવરાત્રી જો ચાલુ થઈ ગઈ. જોકે બધા હોય તોય સેવંતીલાલને કંઈ ખાસ ફેર કયાં પડવાનો હતો. પત્ની સુશીલાના સ્વધામે ગયા પછી એકલતા જ એમની કાયમી સાથી હતી. પાણી પીને સેવંતીલાલ પાછા પોતાની રૂમમાં આવ્યા. દીકરા વહુએ સેવંતીલાલની સગવડનું કહો કે પોતાના રૂમમાંથી એ બહુ બહાર ના આવે એનું કહો પણ ખૂબ જ ધ્યાન
