"લે છોકરા, હરિતા માટે પણ જામફળ તોડતો જાજે........"છેલ્લી પંદર મિનિટમાં મંજૂ માઁએ ચોથી વાર તન્મયને કહ્યું હતું. ગામ માટે મંજૂ ડોશી પણ તન્મય માટે એ મંજૂમાઁ હતા. આજે કદાચ આઠ-દસ વર્ષે પછી એ મંજૂમાઁને મળ્યો હતો. આંખોમાં હજી એજ તેજ હતું, જે આજથી વર્ષો પહેલાં જોયેલું. પણ શરીર હવે નબળુ પડી ગયું હતું, કદાચ ઉંમરની અસરના હતી. પરંતુ અવાજ હજી પહેલા જેવો જ હતો, ઘેરો, ઘુંટાયેલો અને વહાલથી ભરપૂર, પણ ઉંમરના કારણે થોડો અટકીને આવતો હતો. હવે તેમના માથે પેલો રાતો મોટો ચાંલ્લો નહતો, નાકમાં દાણો કે કાનમાં એ જૂના જમાનાનાં બુટીયા પણ નહતા. ગામડાની પરંપરા પ્રમાણેની જ સાડી પહેરી
