તોફાની કાનોધૂંધળો-ધૂંધળો એક દસ વર્ષનો છોકરો ગામની બજારમાં દોડતો દેખાતો હતો. એને પહેરેલા એ ચંપલ સાવ ઘસાયેલા અને કાંટાથી ભરપૂર હતા. એ ચંપલની ડટ્ટી નીકળી જતા આખું ચંપલ મોંઢામાં નાખી મહામહેનતે ડટ્ટી બીડાવતો ગાંડો લાગતો હતો. બે-ત્રણ દિવસથી નાહ્યો ના હોય એવા વાળ હતા. શર્ટ તો કેવા કલરનો હતો એ તો ભગવાન જાણે પણ એ શર્ટની બેય હાથની બાંયો નાક લૂછી લૂછીને ભીની થયેલી અને એના પર ચોંટેલી માટી એ તો સાવ ખરાબ લાગતી હતી. નીચે પહેરેલી ચડ્ડીને તો એટલા થિંગડા હતા કે એનો સાચો રંગ પણ નહોતો દેખાતો. એનો આ જ દેખાવ એની ગરીબીનું દર્શન કરાવતો હતો. આટલો ગરીબ
