પશ્ચિમોત્તર કાશ્મીર, ઉરી, કાલા પહાડ બ્રિગેડ – 1976-77; નાગા સૈનિકોનું કાલા પહાડ બ્રિગેડ પર આગમન થતાં જ પરંપરાગત સ્વાગત થયું. પાકિસ્તાનીઓએ આપણી અગ્રીમ હરોળની પોસ્ટ પર ત્રણેક મોર્ટાર શેલ વરસાવ્યા, સામાન્ય રીતે જયારે પણ કોઈ નવું આર્મી યુનિટ કાશ્મીર બોર્ડર પર તૈનાત થાય કે પાકિસ્તાનીઓ તેમનું સ્વાગત આ જ રીતે કરતા આવ્યા છે. પરંતુ આ વખતે નાગા રેજીમેન્ટના જવાનોએ એ વળતો જવાબ આપવાનું માંડી વાળ્યું. હવે તો જાણે ભૂંડ ગંદકી ભાળી ગયું. ત્યારબાદની બે રાત્રી સુધી બે-પાંચ પાકિસ્તાની સૈનિકો ભારતીય સીમામાં ઘુસી જાય, આપણી ચોકીઓ પર હેન્ડ ગ્રેનેડ વરસાવે અને પાછા ભાગી જાય તેવું બનતું રહ્યું. ત્રીજી રાત્રે, નાઈટ ડ્યુટી પર
