અમુલભાઇ દેસાઇ નવસારીમાં પ્રોવિઝન સ્ટોર ચલાવે છે. સ્વભાવે ખૂબ જ સરળ અને ઇમાનદાર અમુલભાઇ કુટુંબમાં પત્નિ અલ્પાબેન અને બે દીકરા અમિત અને સુમિત. મોટો ભાઇ અમિત ભણવામાં એવરેજ અને નાનો ભાઇ સુમિત ભણવામાં ખૂબ જ હોંશિયાર. બંનેના સ્વભાવમાં પણ આસમાન જમીનનો ફરક. અમિતને સ્પોર્ટસ તરફ વધારે રુચિ સુમિતને પુસ્તકો વાંચવા બહુ જ ગમતા. અમુલભાઇ વાર્તાની ચોપડીઓ લાવતા એટલે સુમિત બધી જ ચોપડીઓ વાંચવા બેસી જતો. પુરી નહીં થાય ત્યાં સુધી ઊઠતો નહીં. સ્કુલમાં અમિત ખેલકુદમાં અને સુમિત નાટકો અને વકતૃત્વ સ્પર્ધામાં અવ્વલ.
