દુનિયાના ઇતિહાસમાં 1731 માં એક અનોખી ઘટના બની હતી. ભારત ના એક ગામમાં વૃક્ષ ના બચાવ માટે કેટલાય લોકો એ પોતાના પ્રાણ ત્યાગ કર્યો હતો.જેના પ્રણેતા એક સાહસિક મહિલા અમૃતાદેવી હતા. આજ ના આ સ્વાર્થપૂણ સમય કોઈ કોઈનું નથી.જ્યાં સગા પણ પારકા બની જાય છે. ત્યાં આ મહિલા સાથે તેની ત્રણ બહાદુર પુત્રો અને 363 ગામજનો એ પોતાના પ્રાણ તો ત્યાગ ગામમાં રહેલા ખેજડી ઝાડ નો બચાવ કરવા કર્યો હતો. આપણે કહી શકીએ કે ચિપકો આંદોલન ની ખરી શુરુંઆત તો આજ સમય હી થઈ ગઈ હતી. અમૃતાદેવી ભારત
