મને એમ હતું કે કરમાઈ ગઈ હશે.આખેઆખું ફળિયું તેને સુંઘી ગયું હતું.પમરાટ તેના રૂપનોજ નહોતો ! તેની બદનામીમાં કમરની નાજુકતા ને હોઠોની કળી પણ એટલાજ જવાબદાર હતા.હા, પણ હવે,કંઇ અર્થ નહોતો તેની મહેકનો કે,નહોતું કામણ તેની આંખોના બાણનું !.તેને ન ચાખનાર કે પ્યાસો રહી જનાર એકાદ ખરેલું પાંદડું ક્યારેક વાસનાની લાલસાએ બળાપી ઊઠતું "દીઠાનું ઝેર છે,ને ભાઈ દીઠાનું ઝેર છે ! બાકી હજુએ તેની મદિરા માદકજ છે.બસ ચાખનારે તેને અમૃત સમજવું. સોળે શણગાળેલી તે નમણી વાગદત્તા આજ ત્રીસીએ તો સાવ કૂણી છતાં ઘરડી કાકડી થઈ ગઈ હતી.રસ ચૂસીને ફેંકી દીધેલ કેરીની ઉપલી છાલનો પોપડો
