અરજી-પત્ર લખુ છું અરજી-પત્ર વાંચશો જરા કહેવા શું માગું છું સમજશો ખરા, શબ્દો લખવા જતા આંખ ભીની થાય છે; સ્પષ્ટ લખાયેલ શબ્દ પણ ઝાંખા દેખાય છે, ઘણી કાળજી રાખી છે આંસુ લૂછવામાં છતા, એકાદ આંસુ પડે પત્ર પર તો માફ કરશો જરા ભલે ગયા તમે પણ તમારી યાદો છે આ શેરીમાં; શૈશવ નો થપ્પો-દા દોડે છે હજુ આ કેડીમાં, તમે ગયા ત્યારે કઇ બોલી નહોતો શક્યો સંતાડી ગયા હદય અમારું હજી ગોતી નથી શક્યો હદય થી વિચારવું છે મારે મન થી વિચાર્યું ઘણું, પણ ક્યાં સંતાડયુ છે હદય મારુ એ કહેશો જરા સંતાડયુ હદય તમે એ તો પાકું છે;
