फाइल पर आख़िरी टिप्पणी कर के अपने हस्ताक्षर चिपकाये, झटके से फाइल बंद की और अपनी झुकी हुयी गर्दन सीधी की. सामने दीवार पर लगी घड़ी पर नज़र डाली तो देखा साढ़े छह बज चुके थे. खुद पर गुस्सा भी आ ही गया. जानती है उसके देर तक रुके रहने से कुछ और लोगों को असुविधा होती है. उनकी तीखी नज़र और पीठ पीछे बोले जाते अस्पष्ट तीखे लफ्ज़ सुने तो नहीं लेकिन अंदाजा है उसे. और आज जैसे मौकों पर तो इनका एहसास बहुत तीखा भी हो जाता है. आज भी इसी अंदेशे ने उसे झटके से उठाया. खड़ी हुयी, साड़ी का पल्लू ठीक किया, आराम से बैठने के लिए उतारे गए चप्पल पहने, हैंडबैग उठाया, कंधे से लटकाया और चल पडी.
