‘ડોગી’ દીપક રાવલ મનસુખનો શ્વાસ રૂંધાતો હતો....ડોળા ફાટી ગયા હતા..ડોગી છાતી ઉપર ચડી ગયું હતું....એનું ગંદુ મો ગંધાતું હતું ...ગળામાં એના પગના ન્હોર વાગતાં હતાં...એને ચીસ પડવી હતી પણ અવાજ નીકળતો નહોતો...હાથ-પગ પછાડતો હતો....લાગતું હતું કે પ્રાણ નીકળી જશે....દુર કોઈ ગુફામાંથી આવતો હોય તેવો ઈલાનો સાદ સંભાળતો હતો...મનું...મનુ. એ ઝબકી ગયો. આસપાસ કોઈ નહોતું. એ પરસેવે રેબજેબ થઇ ગયો હતો. પરસેવો લૂછ્યો, બે ગ્લાસ પાણી પીધું. થોડીવાર એમ જ આંટા માર્યા. પછી બારી સામે ખુરસીમાં બેઠો. ટીપાઈ પર પગ લંબાવ્યા. બહાર રસ્તા તરફ જોવા લાગ્યો. રસ્તા પર બંને બાજુ કારની લાંબી કતાર હતી. ધીમે ધીમે અજગરની જેમ સરકતી હતી. આ
