બાળપણની ઘણી બધી વાતો એવી રીતેયાદ રહી જતી હોય છે કે, જરા જેટલું ‘હ્રદય’ને ઝંઝોળવામાં આવેને તો તે આપણા ‘નેત્રપટલ’ પર એક ફિલ્મની પટ્ટીની માફક ફરી જતી હોય છે…બાળપણની ઘટનાઓને આપણે કયારેય વિસારી શકતાં નથી. એ યાદો દીલમાં એવી રીતે કોતરાઈ જાય છે કે ઉંમર વધતાં વધારે ને વધારે ગાઢી બનતી જાય છે…આજે મને પણ મારી બાળપણની સૌથી પહેલી સખી-સહેલી ભારતી યાદ છે. હું એમ કહી શકું કે કદાચ મારી યાદોમાં તરોતાજા ફૂલની જેમ મહેંકે છે. અથવા તો એમ કહી શકાય કે હું એને ભૂલી જ નથી.હું અને ભારતી પાંચમાં ધોરણ સુધી સાથે ભણ્યા. મારામાં ને ભારતીમાં ખૂબ જ વિરોધાભાસ.
