કોલેજનાં છેલ્લા વર્ષની પરીક્ષાઓ ચાલી રહી હતી.જોત-જોતામાં કોલેજનાં ત્રણ વર્ષ ક્યાં પૂરા થઇ ગયા તેનો ખ્યાલ રુચિકા અને સુબોધને રહ્યો જ નહીં. મોટી બોલતી કાળી આંખો, લાંબા રેશમી વાળ,ઉજળો વાન, મધ્યમ કદ-કાઠી જોતાંની સાથે પહેલી જ વારમાં કોઈને પણ ગમી જાય તેટલી સુંદર રુચિકા હતી.તો સામે પાંચ ફૂટ સાત ઇંચની ઊંચાઈ,સ્નાયુબદ્ધ શરીર ,થોડી ભૂરાશ પડતી નાની આંખો અને ગોરા વાન સાથે સુબોધ પણ ફૂટડો જુવાન હતો.કોલેજનાં પ્રથમ વરસમાં જ રુચિકાને જોતાંજ સુબોધને તે તરત જ ગમી ગઈ હતી અને તે તેની પાછળ-પાછળ ફરવા લાગ્યો હતો.પરંતુ રુચિકા તેને જાજો ભાવ આપતી નહોતી. પછી ધીરે-ધીરે મિત્રતા થઇ
