વફાદારી. મારા ગળામાં સળવળાટ થવા લાગ્યો. મારા દિમાગ ઉપર અચાનક જાણે રુધિરાભિસરણ તંત્રનો હુમલો ન થયો હોય! કદાચ છેલ્લા છ મહિનાથીકે એક વર્ષથી કે કદાચ ચાર પાંચ વર્ષથી, મને નથી ખબર, પણ આવો હુમલો ક્યારેય નથી થયો. કદાચ મારો અંત નજીક હોય એવું લાગે છે. ખરેખરે મારી સાથે શું થયું હતું? મારું ચેતન મન આંદોલિત થઈ રહ્યું હતું. પાછલા દિવસોની ધૂંધળી સ્મૃતિઓ મારા દિમાગના દરવાજા ખખડાવી રહી હતી. મને આવેલાં સપનાં, વિચારો, સાંભળેલા આવજો, જોયેલાંદૃશ્યો! ઓહ! આજે પહેલીવાર મારા કપાળ ઉપરથી પરસેવાના ટીપાંની ઊની ભીનાશ હું અનુભવી રહ્યો છું. ભૂતકાળની એ સ્મૃતિ મારા દિમાગમાં તૂટક તૂટક અને વણ જોડાયેલી
