એ કાળી આંખો - વિજય શાહવસંતનાં વધામણાંની પૂર્વ તૈયારીરૂપે વૃક્ષોએ કુંપળોને જન્મ આપવા માંડ્યો હતો. થડને ટેકે રહેલ દરેકે દરેક ડાળીઓએ કુમળા પાનનાં વસ્ત્રોપહેરવા માંડ્યા હતા. યુનિવર્સિટીનાં ધમધમતા બસ સ્ટેન્ડ ઉપર લાગેલી લાઈનમાં હું ઊભો ઊભો રૂચિની રાહ જાતો હતો. લાઈન ટૂંકી થતી જતી હતી પણ રૂચિ દેખાતી નહોતી. સૂર્યનારાયણનાં છેલ્લા રાતા કિરણો ઝાડનાં પલ્લવ વસ્ત્રોમાંથી ગળાઈને સ્ટેન્ડ ઉપર પડતા હતા.બે બસ ઉપરાછાપરી આવીને ગઈ તોય હજી રૂચિ ન દેખાઈ. બોરીવલી સુધીનો રસ્તો એકલો કેમ કપાય ? ચાલ જીવ બહાર નીકળ લાઈનમાંથી – હમણાં આવશે અને ઠેઠ સુધીની કંપની રહેશે.‘કંપની ? કોની ?’ અળવીતરા મને સવાલ પૂછ્યો – ‘કેમ રૂચિની
