કાળો થેલો ખભે વ્યવસ્થિત કરી હું બસમાંથી નીચે ઉતર્યો. ઉડતી ધૂળ ની ડમરીઓએ મારુ સ્વાગત કર્યું. ઉનાળાની કાળઝાળ ગરમીમાં રણવિસ્તાર ના ગામમાં પગ મુકો ત્યારે તમને ખયાલ આવે કે એને મરુસ્થલ શા માટે કહેવાય છે. મને તરસ લાગી હતી. ગળામાં શોષ પડતો હતો. આખુંય ગામ જાણે કે આગની લપેટમાં સૂઈ ગયું હતું. ગામના ખુલ્લા પાદરમાં સ્મશાનવત શાંતિ હતી. એક બે હાફતા કૂતરા ઠંડક ની તલાશ મા આમતેમ ભટકતા હતાં. હું થોડો આગળ વધ્યો.ખાસ્સું ચાલ્યા બાદ થોડી હિલચાલ જણાઈ. મે નિરાત નો શ્વાસ લીધો.એકલતા દરેક ને ડંખે છે.એક બે ડોસાઓ કાથીનો ખાટલો ઢાળી એનાં ઉપર બેઠા બેઠા
