દરિયામાં દિશા દેખાડતી દીવાદાંડી દૂરથી દેખાઈ. વિશાળ જળરાશિથી ઊભરાતો દરિયો દેખાયો, અણિયારી ભેખડોમાં અથડાતી લહેરોનો ઉન્માદ પણ હવે સ્પષ્ટ સંભળાયો. અંગે અંગમાં રોમાંચ થઈ આવ્યો. મેં એકદમ ચાલ વધારી. ઉત્સાહપૂર્વક એકલી જ આગળ વધી ગઈ. કિરીટમામા ને મયૂરી થોડાં પાછળ છૂટી ગયાં. ઘણું ચાલી ગયેલા પગ આજે થાકતા નહોતા. કદાચ આ કદી ન માણેલાં વાતાવરણની અસર હતી, ક્યાં પછી પ્રકૃતિએ પગમાં ભરી દીધેલું ગજબનું ઝનૂન. પણ આજે જરાય થાક વર્તાતો જ નહોતો. નહિતર ત્યાં શહેરમાં તો સ્કૂટી વગર એક કિલોમીટર પણ મારે ચાલવાનું થાય તો પગ ન ઊપડે. જ્યારે અહીં તો બસ ચાલ્યા જ કરું. ડૂબતી જ
