ઘર (નવલિકા) “અરે રિયા ! તું તો આખ્ખી ભીંજાય ગઈ ને! બહાર બહું વરસાદ પડે છે કે શું?”સામે વાળા ફ્લેટને દરવાજે ડોરબેલ વગાડતી રિયા હજી હમણા જ કોલેજથી આવી ઊભી હતી.પાણીથી લથબથ શરીર ઠંડીથી ધ્રૂજી રહ્યું હતું.ઠંડીથી ફફડતાં હોઠે તો કશો પ્રતિભાવ આપ્યો નહિ,પરંતું ભાવવિહીન રુક્ષ ચહેરાએ હકારમાં માથું હલાવી ઉત્તર વાળ્યો.દરવાજો ખૂલતાં જ રિયા ફ્લેટમાં ખેંચાઈ ને દરવાજો ધડામ કરી પછડાયો.જાણે દરવાજો સનતભાઈના આત્મા સાથે પછડાયો.દરવાજા અને રિયાના તિરસ્કૃત વર્તનનો હૃદય પર એવો ધક્કો લાગ્યો કે, ધ્રૂજારી આખા શરીરમાં ફેલાઈ ગઈ.
