ક્ષિતિજ તરફ જવા ઉતાવળો થયેલ સુરજ આથમવાની તૈયારીમાં હતો."વાનપ્રસ્થાશ્રમ" ના દરવાજે એક ટેક્સી આવી ઊભી રહી.શ્વેત વસ્ત્રધારી મનસુખભાઈ સરનામાની ખરાઇ ચકાસતા ઉતર્યા. વિશાળ ખુલ્લા મેદાનમાં બધા વૃદ્ધો સાંજની પ્રાર્થના માટે ભેગા થવા લાગ્યા હતા.મનસુખભાઈ પણ આ મેદનીમાં ભળી ગયા.જોકે પ્રાર્થના કોના માટે કરવી એ સવાલે તેમને મૂંઝવણમાં મૂકી દીધા.છતાંય બધા વૃદ્ધો સાથે શૂન્યમનસ્ક રીતે એ ચેષ્ટા કરી. પ્રાર્થના પૂરી થતા "વાનપ્રસ્થાશ્રમ"ના રૂપાળા નામધારી વૃદ્ધાશ્રમના મેનેજરે મનસુખભાઈ ને ભીડ થી આગળ બોલાવ્યા.બધા વૃદ્ધોને તેનો પરિચય આપતા કહ્યું,"આ મનસુખભાઈ છે આપણા આશ્રમ ના નવા
