સુંડલા જેવી આંટાંળી પાઘડી, પાસાબંધી કેડીયુ, કેડ્યે પછેડીની ભેંટ ને બગલમાં તલવાર..... પાઘડી ઉપર મરણનો ખરખરો કરવા માટે ઓઢેલું આખેઆખું ફાળીયું ઓઢીને એક ગજાદાર આદમી જુનાગઢના નવાબનાં મહેલમાં દાખલ થયો. મહેલમાં આજે શાહજાદાના જન્મદિવસનો ઉત્સવ ઉજવાય રહ્યો હતો. ખુશાલીમાં વાગતાં વાજીંત્રો ચુપ થઇ ગયા. ઉમંગના ઉછળતાં મોજા થંભી ગયા. ખીલેલા બગીચા જેવો નવાબ હામદખાન નો ચહેરો તંગ બની ગયો. એની આંખોમાં ખૂણે ક્રોધનાં ટશીયાં ફૂટ્યા. કંકોત્રીનાં કંકુ વચ્ચે મેશનું ટપકું થઈને ટપકી પડેલો આ આદમી છેક રાજ્યાંગણ સુધી પહોંચી ગયો. મહેલનાં રક્ષકો ક્યાં ગયા.. નવાબની આંખો ચોકિયાતો ઉપર કાતર બનીને ફરી વળી.
